Many people have felt aggrieved that they cannot watch the Champions League and Europa League finals due to not having a subscription to BT Sport. Having to pay for even more sports channels on top of a Sky Sports subscription turned a lot of people off of BT Sport, despite them having the rights to every Champions League and Europa League game this season, as well some Premier League and FA Cup games.
Today, the sport broadcasting giant has announced that the finals of European club football’s most prestigious tournaments will be streamed for free on Youtube.
The Champions League final is set to be one of the biggest in recent years, with Real Madrid facing off against local rivals Atletico Madrid; with the bragging rights of the city at stake, it is sure to be a fiery affair. The Europa League too is set to be a very interesting match up between Jurgen Klopp’s rejuvenated Liverpool side, and Sevilla who are looking to become the first team to win the trophy for three years running.
Whatever your opinion is of BT Sport, it must be said that they are being very generous in allowing the general public to stream the match via Youtube instead of pushing their own business. Perhaps Sky should take a leaf out of BT’s book and give something back to their customers every once in a while.
